What is Eyebrow Microblading? Microblading is a semi-permanent Eyebrow Treatment used to enhance, reshape or create a natural looking appearance of the brows.
Is Eyebrow Microblading and Eyebrow tattooing the same procedure? No. Eyebrow Microblading is a form of tattoo artistry. Unlike a regular tattoo where an electronic device is used to implant coloured pigment in the deeper dermal layers of the skin, Microblading is applied using a manual hand held tool to delicately place the coloured pigments directly beneath the skin surface. With microblading the application is much more shallow than with permanent tattoos, making the microblading procedure a more semi-permanent result. The use of the hand held tool in Microblading allows for a more controlled application using a technique that mimics a natural hair pattern giving a much more realistic, natural result than a tattoo.
How long does the results last with Microblading? The coloured pigment molecules will stay in the skin indefinitely, typically colour remains for several years, however the visible results will vary with each individual, depending on pigment colour choice (lighter shades can fade much quicker) age, medication, skin type and lifestyle. The results can also be dependent on following aftercare instruction.
Yes. Cosmetic tattooing and microblading have proven to be safe. The pigments that many professionals use are inorganic iron oxides, distilled water, alcohol and glycerine.
I have no natural eyebrow hair, am I suitable for Eyebrow Microblading? Absolutely. Eyebrow microblading is ideal even if you have no natural hair. A completely new brow can be designed, unique to you.
No. The level of discomfort is relatively minor. Some liken it to tweezing two to three hairs at the same time. Usually a topical anesthetic is used to numb the area being worked. Topical anesthetics are safe and may contain lidocaine, tetracaine and epinephrine. Redness and slight swelling in the area is common after the procedure.
